From the creator of the award-winning
PBS special, “The Neon Man and Me,”
comes a surreal, sensational, and
distinctly southern coming of age story
set amongst the back drop of
bicentennial fever, the white-man
perm, and Evel Knievel.
With parents attempting to support the
family selling roadkill sculptures, twin
sisters who speak a rare alien-like
language and a blundering obsession
with the Baltimore Colts, reel-to-reel
recorders, and his third grade teacher,
join writer/performer Slash Coleman in
“The Last American Gladiator,” as he brings you a painfully honest and hilarious coming of
age journey to find reason in a world where none exists.
The 2011 tour will include a collaboration with physical comedian/clown Bee Bernard. In
recent work, The Washington Post raved about Bernard's "polished comic timing." Join the
duo as they combine their musical talents, modern storytelling skills, dance, clown, and
quick wit at theupcoming Long Island Fringe Festival and the Wilmington Fringe Festival.
