In a real life tragedy-turned-good story, performer and playwright Slash
Coleman brings his award winning one-man show to the P-town Fringe
Festival this week. The Neon Man and Me was written by Coleman after the
sudden death of a 20-year friend he met in college (the friend was a neon
artist), and the discovery by his friend’s girlfriend just one month after his
death that she was pregnant.
In the show, Coleman plays 30 different
characters telling the “expressive, touching, and
very funny” story of him coming to terms with his
friend’s death. Coleman, who has worked with
non-profits throughout the show’s history, has
raised over $10,000 and is currently working on
two things: raising enough money to help with
living expenses for his friend’s son and to
perform the show off Broadway by 2007.

Tickets $15. The Neon Man hits the Fringe
boards Thurs. July 13 at 9 p.m. and Fri. July 14 at
7 p.m. at the Waterfront Theatre, 1 Commercial
St., Provincetown. Info: 866.811.4111 or
